Image Tips for Camera Credibility
What do books, packages, and professionals have in common? They are judged by their outward appearance. We are all bombarded with images of individuals and products competing for our attention in print, on line, and in television. The individual or product that is packaged most attractively usually gets our attention. Your image is you in the minds and eyes of others. You want your image to reflect who you are accurately. Follow these image tips the next time you appear on camera to make your photo radiate confidence and credibility and to position you
for personal/professional success.
Ten Image Tips for Camera Credibility
1. Plan ahead what you will wear on camera. Choose something that looks good on you.
2. Wear a collared garment to lift the viewer’s attention to your face.
3. Create a light/dark color contrast between your garments and the background.
4. Avoid wearing patterns, prints, or plaids that vibrate on camera.
5. Try your clothes on ahead of the photo session to make sure they fit perfectly.
6. Apply make-up in moderation!
7. Recheck yourself in a mirror upon arrival at the studio before going on camera.
8. Stand and sit tall. You will breathe better and look thinner on camera.
9. Smile! Direct your focus at the person who is interviewing you or follow photographer’s instructions.
10. Relax! Take in a deep cleansing breath and exhale slowly!
You are wise to remember this ancient quote “One picture is worth a thousand words.”
